Who Writes the OptiAM Blog

The OptiAM blog comes from Andromeda Systems Incorporated (ASI), the reliability and supportability engineering team that has supported DoW assets since 2005. ASI builds OptiAM, a maintenance and asset management platform that works as both a CMMS and an EAM, depending on how a team uses it.

We write for the people running the operation: plant managers, maintenance leads, fleet managers and facilities directors. Every post tries to answer a real question plainly, including the times when a spreadsheet is still the right call.

Common Questions

What is the OptiAM blog?

The OptiAM blog is a free resource on maintenance and asset management for plant, fleet and facilities teams. It covers CMMS and EAM software, work orders, preventive maintenance, spare parts, reliability-centered maintenance and how to get a maintenance system to actually stick.

What is OptiAM?

OptiAM is maintenance and asset management software built by Andromeda Systems Incorporated (ASI). Teams use it to keep an equipment registry, run work orders and preventive maintenance, manage spare parts, and give technicians manuals and procedures in the field through the OptiAM GO mobile app, including offline.

Is OptiAM a CMMS or an EAM?

Both. Teams that mainly need work orders, PM schedules and parts use OptiAM as a CMMS. Teams that manage equipment across its whole life, from registry and component history to reliability analysis, use it as an EAM. It is the same platform either way.
