What Each Maintenance Maturity Level Looks Like
Most maintenance teams sit somewhere on the same four-step path. Where you land decides what to fix first, and it is rarely the most expensive item on the list.
Reactive
Equipment runs until it breaks. Work arrives by phone call or hallway conversation, parts get expedited, and the knowledge lives in a few senior techs.
Preventive
A PM program exists, usually on fixed calendar intervals. Work orders are tracked, but PM is scheduled by date rather than by how hard the equipment actually runs.
Predictive
Service is driven by runtime, usage and inspection readings. Most failures get caught early, and planned work outweighs emergency work.
Reliability-Centered
Maintenance runs like an engineering function. Failure history and lifecycle cost decide the program, including when to repair and when to replace.
About the Scorecard
How is my score calculated?
Each of the ten questions has four answers, scored from 0 to 3. Your total is converted to a score out of 100, then grouped by the stage of the asset lifecycle each question covers: registering assets, operating and maintaining them, stocking parts, getting know-how to the machine, and measuring and retiring equipment.
Do I have to give my email to see the result?
No. Your score, level and top three fixes appear on screen as soon as you finish. The form only shows up afterward, if you want the OptiAM team to walk through your results with you.
What happens to my answers?
Your answers stay in your browser unless you send the form. We record anonymous totals, like the score and level, to see how the tool is used. If you do send the form, your answers are attached so the conversation starts from where you actually are.
